Hello, World

To say that we are out of the loop or late bloomers with our first blog post being January 19, 2012 would be more than ridiculous and clearly obvious.  In a small business we are constantly reminded of how important social media can be.  Do people forget that in small businesses we have to be a thousand people wearing many hats at once!?  I am lucky to post something on Facebook or Tweet a cute photo of a new gown that has arrived.  I take out the trash, I answer the phones, I greet Mr. FedEx and Mr. UPS when they arrive with huge boxes and demand money in return for some gorgeous Amsale bridesmaids dresses or cute baubles from Paris, Inc.  I then unpack the boxes, break them down, take them outside, OOPS, phone rings and someone makes an appointment, YEA!  Next appointment arrives, work with them for an hour, looney solicitor stops by wanting to sell natural gas.  Too nice to mention the 2 (yes 2!) No Soliciting signs on our front door, I hurriedly explain we are one of the oldest buildings in this darling town of Olde Worthington, Ohio and that we get our heat from these trusty little radiators.

This weekend is really no different in the world of never ending events happening!  Our first trunk show of busy season has started to unfold.  We received all of our Lea-Ann Belter Bridal gowns today.  Unpacking and steaming took place in a hurry.  Sometimes we must pause to admire such things instead of focusing on cleaning up the mess.  We are full of appointments tomorrow but must cut our day a bit short to pack up every major piece of furniture and display mechanisms to haul them on over to The Franklin Park Conservatory.  They put on a great display of some of the finest wedding vendors in Columbus, Ohio.  It's a bit spendier than the average convention center show but every penny is worth it.  You can just tell the aura of the show isn't about how many free pieces of wedding cake you can shove in your mouth.

After the show is over and we pack everything back up in the trusty van that one of our lovely vendors is allowing us to borrow, we must head back to the boutique, unload and set everything back in its place all nice and gorgeous for a fun-filled and completely booked Saturday worth of appointments.  Lots of ladies will be eyeing the gowns made by Lea-Ann Belter and hoping for a trunk show special whether that be a discount or custom crystal buttons down the back of her gown.

We love Lea-Ann Belter for many reasons!  Her style fits our Midwest brides superbly.  While getting married locally is clearly popular, because our weather can be iffy, many girls and guys choose destination weddings versus this neck of the woods. LAB gowns are light and airy while still encompassing the 100% silk fabric that we require here at La Jeune Mariee.  Karen, Lea-Ann's trusty representative, also lives in the Cleveland area so I feel like I have an arsenal of resources in my backyard.  I barely have to call her anymore though when a bride says to me, "I love the top of Audrey but I really want the ball gown skirt from Allison.  Do you think I could do that?"  ABSOLUTELY!  Lea-Ann is the best go-to designer when it comes to customizing and that has literally made the decision easy-breezey for so many brides when stuck between 2 designers.  I could go on and on but I thought I would end this lovely first blog post with some pretty examples of Lea-Ann's creations on some of our recent brides.

xoxo,
